Publish Your Web Site To Your Astro Account

Publish: There are a few ways to publish your files. The easiest way to publish files is to right click on the file you want to publish and click on the option "Put". When you click put, you are telling the program you want to take the files from your disk and "put" them into your astro account.

Password: The program should ask for your password to your astro account. If it does not ask for your password it means you selected "save password" when you set up your account. If you do not want your password saved you will have to click in the menu bar for site...manage sites, choose your site and click edit to deselect the save password option under the remote info category.

Dependant files: If the program asks if you want to include dependant files, it is asking you if you want to also publish all the files necessary (images, etc) that make up the file you chose to publish. If you only changed the one file and not the supporting files it is ok to select "no" for this question. If you created a web page file and introduced images as well as text and links, then it might be a good idea to publish the dependant files rather than looking for each file and right clicking to choose "put" each time.

To Publish Multiple Files Or Your Entire Site

If you want to publish more than one file you can select as many files as you wish, then right click and choose "put". All selected files will be published.

If you want to publish your entire site folder you can right click on the site folder at the top of your files panel and select "put". This will start to take a long time later in the semester as your web site begins to grow. It is often a better idea to select only the files you need to publish and then select "put".
