Microsoft has come out with a new deal for all college students taking at least 0.5 credit hours. You can purchase Office 2007 Ultimate (the deal with the book store was Office 2007 Plus) for only $59.95:

10.10.05: Peter Murray Visits Temple!

Peter Murray, founder and President of Wireless Access Communications, will be joining us as ACM's first guest speaker of the semester.  His topic will include, but not limited to, Business Continuity and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).

This event will be held at 11:40 - 12:30, in Room 115 of Speakman Hall.

All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.

His talk will be informal Q & A and will include a wide range of topics.

All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.


1.21.05: Have you changed your password since last October?

A pilot program for accessing PCs on campus is being rolled at selected public computer labs. You will use your NetAccess ID and password to log into lab PCs in order to access resources, including "drag and drop" access to Temple's MyBackPack file storage. Using MyBackPack, you can store and retrieve your personal files from any computer via the Internet.

Vinton Cerf, "Father of the Internet" will be speaking Monday, November 15th, 1:40 PM Location: Walk Auditorium

8.5.03:  Computer and information science's Peter Cook was featured Tuesday night on WPVI's Channel 6 news at 6 PM EST. Cook's tips are also featured on Ch.6's web site.  

The piece interviewed Peter Cook and his class about the use/purchase of laptops for college as well as a discussion about wireless laptops being used on the campus of Temple University. Also featured in the piece is Gene Mayro (not pictured) of Temple University's Computer Services.


9.5.02:  Computer and information science's Peter Cook was featured Monday night on WPVI's "Cyber6" segment offering parents advice on buying a computer for their college-bound student.

Cook's tips are also featured on Ch.6's web site. The piece was the result of a news release by the Office of News and Media Relations (NMR)...Dallas Morning News education reporter Lori Price also sought out Cook for a story on a Texas school district debate over whether PCs or Macintosh computers are best for students. Price saw Cook listed on Profnet's Experts web site and contacted NMR, who tracked down Cook in Maine.
