Each of these short, poetic video works takes an icon from American history as a point of departure for an investigation of representation and subjectivity. Part disinformation, part deconstruction, part soliloquy—each piece fashions a voice from a repertoire of used material, each character seeking a way out of the stories that encrypt them.
